"The Lotus Eater "

The face is of cotton, machine sewn and appliquéd, then quilted with glass and red coral beads. The piece started with a bolt of fabric leaping off the shelf, screaming ?Bead Me, I?m An Iguana!? The iguana that resulted was bead embroidered flat first, then stuffed when I appliquéd him onto the quilt. I used Peyote stitch for the eyelids and, of course, more scarabs.
